Warning after fraudsters impersonate police officers.


Fraudsters are impersonating Police officers and targeting the elderly/vulnerable.

Fraudsters are targeting the elderly/vulnerable posing as Police officers, stating that there has been fraudelent activity on their accounts and instructing victims to withdraw or transfer large amounts of money which they would then arrange to come and collect. 

The Police will never phone up and ask you to transfer money to another account, withdraw money or ask for any of your bank details and PIN.  

Top Tips:

  • The police will never collect your bank card.
  • The police will never ask for your PIN.
  • If you receive one of these calls end it immediately.

Victim advice

  • If you have handed over any details to the fraudster, call your bank and cancel your cards immediately.
  • ​If you want to call your bank, then do it from another telephone.
